Wow! Long time, no post! A monster GIVEAWAY will make it better...

Hello, everybody! I've neglected my poor blog because I'm been directing more energies toward my facebook pages, but I'll rectify that lapse right now with a giveaway!

I'm celebrating FIVE HUNDRED REVIEWS on The Pepper in the Gumbo. Thank everyone who left a review! I really appreciate you taking the time to hit those stars and leave a few words.
And to show my thanks I'm giving away some goodies.
I couldn't decide between Austen...
 Or Louisiana cooking.
And then I thought, "It's MY giveaway. Why not BOTH?"So, here we gooooooo!
One "I love Darcy tote" bag.
One set of Emma by Jane Austen refrigerator poetry.
One copy of Southern Cakes. (I looooove this book.)
And the great granddaddy of giveaway cookbooks-- A copy of River Road Recipes. You can read the description here but it's an amazing collection of Louisiana family recipes from the River Road area. It's the nation's #1 community cookbook, with 650 Cajun and Creole dishes, including the most basic beginner's recipe like "How to Make a Roux". I never get tired of reading through this cookbook!

Enter here and best of luck!

  6. I love Persuasion. It is probably by Jane Austen. As for cooking, still slowly learning!

  7. Favorite Jane Austen ... P&P and Emma! I cook because my family needs to eat, but I'd much rather read. :)

  10. I love all of Jane Austen's works for different reasons...but, if I had to pick, I'd say Persuasion. And, I love trying new recipes. Feeding people is my spiritual gift! ;)

  11. My favorite Jane Austen is "Persuasion". I can so identify with Ann. I love to cook and bake, but I have to say that I love all things Fall. Hearty soups and stews, apple and pumpkin desserts. Can't get enough.

  12. I love Emma (actually the movies, too) and cooking is not part of my DNA. LOL. I try to cook and love to eat home made goodies, but alas, something always goes wrong.

  14. I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful series. I'm on book two after reading the first book twice. The stories you weave and the references you draw from literature are so creative. I'm a homeschooling mom of four trying to carve out time to write the book God has laid on my heart. When I feel out of time, creativity and energy, I'll think of you and Elizabeth Gaskell somehow filling pages with kids in the mix. Many blessings!
